TLCSC Hosts First-Ever Short Course Meet!

What a day! TLC Swim Club’s first-ever Short Course Meet was an outstanding success and it's all thanks to the incredible spirit of our community. From sunrise to pack-up, the day ran like a well-oiled machine, and we couldn’t be prouder of everyone who contributed.

By the Numbers:

  • Junior Session Swimmers: 120

  • Senior Session Swimmers: 110

  • Total Entries: Over 1,000

  • Clubs Attending: 40+ clubs from across Queensland

The atmosphere was buzzing, with swimmers and supporters from more than 40 clubs filling the stands, cheering, marshalling, racing and creating memories. From start to finish, the day reflected the heart of TLC Swim Club - teamwork, generosity and a genuine love of the sport.

To the volunteers - wow! Whether you were timekeeping, manning the BBQ, managing first aid, sorting medals, running the raffle, setting up, or staying back to pack away, your energy, commitment and attention to detail were phenomenal. Special thanks to our Club families, including those new to swim meets, who stepped in wherever needed with willing hands and open hearts.

A massive shout-out to Liz, Trent and Amber, who were the steady hands guiding the day behind the scenes. And to Steve, Mackenzie, Sue and Marnie - your planning and preparation in the lead-up didn’t go unnoticed. You laid the foundation for a truly seamless meet.

We also celebrate our swimmers who competed fiercely but also showed leadership, kindness and support. Whether it was Club Captain Summer managing multiple responsibilities with calm and confidence, or Club Captain Aaron, who comforted a younger swimmer from another club - these are the moments we’ll remember most.

“I think for your first meet, the club should be super proud. It was on-time and well-run. I love a meet that starts on time and is well-organised. There was plenty of parking and seating as well as a coffee van, so lots of positives!”

“Thanks for a great meet on the weekend. I especially loved the music and the man who was on the loud speaker for the events. He was fab!”

“My husband attended with our daughter - he said the meet was so well organised and had a really good feel. He’s a hard man to impress, so I know it must have been great.”

“It was a really lovely meet and a beautiful facility. My swimmers want to know the water temp - they said it was perfect!”

We welcome your feedback - the wins, the ideas and the opportunities to improve, so we can keep growing together and make the next meet even better.

To our entire TLC Swim Club community: thank you! You made this happen. And if this first home meet is anything to go by, the future is bright and full of potential.

Bring on the season ahead!
